Fiorentina hatching plans to build a new stadium
Florence - new stadium03.04.2017: Considering present day standards, the Fiorentina stadium may be deemed as quite outdated, just like most stadiums in Italy. In comparison with other European countries, it is clear that Italy lags behind in the matter of building new stadiums or renovating the old ones. The obvious exception is the new Juventus Stadium, opened in 2011, and the renovated stadium in Udine. However, lack of financial means mars or at least postpones these plans, which, for the most part, exist only in theory. A new home ground would certainly please AS Rome, Lazio Rome, Palermo, as well as Fiorentina.
San Siro – the world famous giant from Milan
28.05.2016: The San Siro stadium is the home of both AC Milan and Inter Milan. However, the Inter Milan fans call it the Giuseppe Meazza stadium. So let’s have a closer look at this giant stadium. San Siro, or Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, has an almost ideal location for a stadium – it is close to the city centre. You can reach the stadium by a bus, trolleybus, tram or underground several times a day. This means that every match played at San Siro is attended by tens of thousands of fans.
Stadium with a 70-meter tower – ACF Fiorentina
Florence - Artemio Franchi29.02.2016: Today we will be visiting a country devoted to football, but which is, however, beginning to lag behind, and not only with regard to football stadiums. As the headline indicates, we will take a closer look at the stadium of ACF Fiorentina, called Artemio Franchi. Most football fans are now aware of the fact that the Italian Serie A is not as good a competition as it used to be, and that there are better competitions, with higher quality games and more elegant stadiums – e.g. the German Bundesliga, undoubtedly one of the best football leagues in Europe, ergo in the whole world.
Renovation of Udinese stadium about to be completed
Udine - Stadio Friuli31.08.2015: Already in 2013 we gave you information about the reconstruction of the stadium, which is the home ground of a traditional, Italian Serie A club, Udinese Calcio. That same year the renovation of the main stand began – it is the only stand to retain its original design. The unique feature of the main stand is its arched roof, symbolic of the entire stadium. The old oval-shaped stands with the running track were replaced by new stands, making the stadium football-only.
